But with the help of Austin and my girlfriend, Kristina, we got it done great!
After prejuding (which took 4-5 hours), we went to TGIFridays and I watched as everyone else ate! I didn’t to get bloated so I just sipped on some water and had high sugar protein bar about 1/2 an hour before the night show (to increase my vascularity). There are four weight classes for wheelchair competitors; lightweight, middleweight, light-heavyweight, and heavyweight. I competed in the biggest class, heavyweight. My very large opponent from last year, Victor Konovalov, wasn’t there this year, but there were several other newbies who offered some good competition.

At the prejudging I found out I placed first in the heavyweight division and would be competing against a two-time champion, Colt Wynn, for the the overall title. It was a good competition and a great posedown. However, Colt won in the end (later I would find out from a judge that there were seven judges, three had me as first and four had Colt as first, I lost by one point).
Unfortunately, I lost this battle, but that will just make me work harder. The judge told me after the show that my back was my weak point and I will definitely be working on that! I was told by many people as I left that I was robbed, and while I agree, I’m not going to be a bad sport about it. I had a great time and will compete again.
I was also invited to guest pose at a Professional Bodybuilding show in Atlantic City in September, all expenses paid.
